Hey Wegmans, More People Might Buy Organic if You Put it On Sale!

My wife and I went grocery shopping yesterday to stock up for the week. My wife noticed something during our checkout. "Did you notice that there are no shoppers club discounts for anything we bought?"

We spend about $120. Our list included items such as Grass Fed Beef, Free Range Chicken Thighs, Eggs, Fruit and Vegetables. Note: I am starting my all Organic diet this week! Check out my blog later this week for updates!

It seems like there is rarely, if ever, a coupon or discount on Organic foods, Fruits or Vegetables.

Here is a list of some foods on Wegmans Shoppers Club Items list

  • Doritos Tortilla Chips: 2/$4.00
  • Betty Crocker Fudge Brownies: $0.99
  • Wegmans Chunky Chicken Noodle Soup: 4/$5.00
  • Tostitos Chips, Tortilla: $2.99
  • Wegmans Soup, Chunky New England Style Clam Chowder: 4/$5.00
  • Egg-Land's Best Eggs: $2.99
  • Goldfish Crackers, Baked Snack, Cheddar: 2/$3.00
  • Cheerios Cereal: 2/$5.00
  • Coca-Cola: 3/$9.99
  • Lay's Wavy Potato Chips: $2.49
  • Cheez-It Snack Crackers: 2/$4.00
  • Pepsi Cola: $0.99
  • Upstate Farms Low Fat Chocolate Milk: $1.00
  • Eggo Waffles, Homestyle: $1.99
  • Eggo Waffles, Chocolate Chip: $1.99
"Food You Feel Good About." You see that written on a lot of Wegmans items. You know what would make me feel good? How about some discounts on healthy food items? Instead of pushing unhealthy foods, why not give some discounts on the healthy stuff?

I agree they should, but economically they probably cant. Its more expensive to make food in large quantities organically.

What about your pets mike? Don't you even care about their health? You need to buy them some organic food as well, if you want to be able to live with yourself.

we're waiting for you to bring us some duck stew, drake!

i know someone that's going to be raising laying chickens for egg production. maybe if you save your egg cartons she'll sell some of those eggs to you and call them "organic.

@Chuck: I know it's all about economics. Wegmans, or any other grocery store, doesn't care about our health, they are just trying to make profit. I feel there is nothing wrong with that either! I just think it's funny that they push the phrase "food you feel good about" while also pushing unhealthy foods!

Andrea made a good point. "If they just jacked up the price a few cents then gave a few cent discount then we wouldn't know the difference anyway and they would look like the hero."

@"Drake": Andrea feeds them enough table scraps as it is!

@t.l. alive: We've got plenty of egg cartons! Fill em' up!!
