Health Care Reform

It's time we change the way we think about health care in the US.

Right now our health care system is too reactive.  We need to become more proactive.

The top 5 Causes of Death in the United States are...

  1. Heart Disease
  2. Cancer
  3. Stroke
  4. Chronic Lower Respiratory Diseases
  5. Accidents
Every one of these causes of death can be prevented, at least in part, by living a healthy lifestyle.  Right now our country tries to cure these issues after they have already been diagnosed.

We "solve" heart disease and stroke by taking cholesterol medications.  We manage cancer through chemotherapy.  We "prevent" accidents by putting people in power wheelchairs. 

I have better solutions.  We need to be proactive to these issues so they never develop.
  1. Prevent heart disease and stroke by not eating crap, eating real food and being active.
  2. Help prevent cancer and respiratory issues by not smoking and not eating foods full of chemicals like pesticides and fertilizers.
  3. Prevent accidents by developing your fitness level and spatial awareness to prevent falls and other accidents.  Also be fit enough so you are able to recover from certain accidents.
Are you going to stop being reactive to health issues and start being proactive?  It's time to change your way of thinking.  Get off your butt and get active.  Start cooking your own meals and eat your fruits and vegetables.
