The Best Exercise Equipment

There is a lot of useless exercise equipment available.  Things like BOSU balls, ellipticals and shake weights fill store shelves with promises of easy fitness and weight loss.

Being Fit Is NOT Easy!

Being fit takes work.  You have to eat well and work out.  So lets keep that in mind when choosing the best fitness equipment.  Two other things we have to keep in mind when choosing the best piece of fitness equipment are function (we want to be able to perform a lot of different movements) and space (we don't want something that takes up too much storage space).

My choice is the Barbell.

Space:
Barbells take minimal storage space.  You don't need a large fitness room in your house.  The corner in your bedroom can be a perfect storing space for a barbell.

Function:
The barbell simply adds external resistance to human movement.  By adding this resistance you will increase strength, endurance, flexibility, agility, balance, bone density...  Here are some examples of common barbell exercises...
  • Back Squat
  • Front Squat
  • Clean and Jerk
  • Snatch
  • Overhead Press
  • Deadlift
Difficulty:
Barbell training is not easy.  Yes, there are certain exercises that do not take long to learn, but others take a lifetime to perfect.  You have to learn how to move properly when barbell training.  This takes a lot of time and practice.  But the good thing is you will get very fit during the process!
