DIY Home Roasted Coffee

Coffee is one of the most heavily sprayed (pesticides and herbicides) plants humans consume.  We wanted to start drinking organic coffee but found it is much more expensive than standard coffee.  To curb some of this cost my wife thought it may be a good idea to buy the organic coffee beans unroasted/"green."  We could roast and grind them ourselves at home to save ourselves a few bucks.

I must say, my wife is a smart woman!  Not only does home roasting save us a few bucks, but the coffee tastes better too.  For the DIY'er (Do It Yourself) this little project is a must.  You will have less expensive, great tasting and fresh, organic coffee with minimal effort and time spent. Most importantly, you have a little bit more control over what you are consuming and how it was processed.

We were inspired by the information on www.SweetMarias.com - check it out for more details and videos on home roasting, what types of popcorn poppers are best to use, and lots of other great stuff!
