Working Toward the Crossfit Open

As most of you know, I am training for the 2012 Crossfit Open.  My goal is to reach the regional level.  If I am going to accomplish this goal I must train hard, eat well and get plenty of recovery.  I gave up alcohol (I made it through two weddings this summer alcohol free!) and have been training very hard.

I changed my diet quite a bit.  Instead of eating spaghetti for dinner I eat vegetables and meat.  Throughout the day I eat many small meals which consist of a lot of fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds and meat.  Here is a snapshot (FitDay.com) of my nutritional breakdown...

Two month average intake from July 1, 2011 to August 31, 2011

  • I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables:  32.5g Fiber
  • I eat a lot of nuts and seeds: 147.3g Fat
  • I eat a lot of meat and eggs: 210.3g Protein, 147.3g Fat
My Results:
At the beginning of the year I weighed 235lbs!  When I started my Nutrition and Workout Log on Monday March 28, 2011, I weighed in at 222lbs.  This morning I broke the 200lb barrier.  I now weight 199lbs!

Not only am I getting lighter, I am also getting stronger and faster.  This past Saturday I completed 30 Clean & Thrusters at 185lbs.  I could barely lift that amount of weight over my head one time a few months ago!

My training is going well.  I don't know if I will be able to make it to the regional level, but I am going to try my hardest!  How is your training going?  Are you seeing good results?

and to think, those 35 wings equaled your average daily intake...and you were still down below 200!
