Re-Post: Wedding Fitness In Three Steps

I originally posted this back in July.  Wedding Fitness in Three Steps For my brother's wedding.  Yes, they are still married!  I know!  I am as surprised as you!  I thought she would come to her senses by now!  But anyway...

I am attending another wedding this weekend.  Liz Zenir and Dave Caruso are tying the knot in Pittsburgh this weekend!  I wish them all the happiness in the world!

What better time to reenforce the idea of wedding fitness...

Everybody wants to be in shape for their wedding.  Most of the time it has nothing to do with health reasons, they simply want to look great in their dress and tuxes for the pictures.  Nobody wants to look at their wedding photos in 20 years and say "man, I was a chunker!"  Oh yeah, most people want to look good naked for their honeymoon too!

If you google "wedding fitness" you will get plenty of search results showing you how you can "get wedding ready in 3 months!", or "go from flab to fab for your wedding day in just 6 weeks!".  These crash exercise routines are not the best way to get you looking good naked for your honeymoon.  Most of them advise you to spend at least 45min. a day, 6 days a week, performing "cardiovascular exercise" as well as performing "toning exercises" such as bicep curls and tricep extensions.  That is a lot of wasted time in the gym!  Very few of these programs talk about a proper warm up, which will take another 10-15 minutes to get through.  In all, you will be spending 1.5-2 hours in the gym 4-6 days a week!  You have a wedding to plan, you don't have that much time to devote to the gym!

Here's a better solution.  Just to warn you, these recommendations are very complex (SARCASM).  You may need to do some studying and practice to perfect these "getting wedding ready" techniques (SARCASM).  If you adhere to these practices you will be looking good naked for your honeymoon.

  1. Start Early!  At least a year before your wedding.  You have a lot to plan and get ready for.  Why add the extra stress just a couple months before the big day?  Planning on getting married next summer?  Get yourself started today!
  2. Eat Real Food!  Forget counting calories.  Forget low carb, low fat, low sodium...  Start eating only real foods.  You know, the stuff found in nature.  Fruits, Vegetables, Nuts, Seeds and Meat.  You will be amazed how fast those extra pounds fall off when you eat only real food.
  3. Sweat!  Don't waste your time "power walking" for an hour and doing 500 crunches and bicep curls every day.  If it's easy then it's probably not doing much for you.  There is a reason it is called WORKING out.  You have to WORK!  Pick up heavy weights, run, row, squat, pull up, push up, sit up...  Dedicate 4-5 days a week and spend no more than 40-60 minutes working your ass off!
That's it.  Pretty simple.  Now it's up to you to get your butt off the couch and get to work!

If I will be spending 1.5-2 hours in the gym 4-6 days a week, then totally how many days I need to prepare for weeding?
Thank you in advance!
Have a nice day.
