BPA found in canned foods

Early this year I began using glass containers for my daily meals instead of plastic.  I had read plastic containers, when heated, release a chemical called bisphenol A (BPA).  BPA has been found, in animal studies, to cause cancer, heart disease and early puberty.  BPA use is banned in baby bottles in Europe and Canada. I wasn't too concerned about the early puberty, but I would like to stave off heart disease and cancer if at all possible!

I've been feeling pretty good about myself the past few months.  You know, sticking it to the man.  "No BPA for me sucka!"  Then I came across this article...

Soaring BPA Levels Found in People Who Eat Canned Foods

Yup... guess who has two thumbs and eats canned foods every day!
Every night I eat either a can of sardines or a can of oysters.  So much for being BPA free.  I'll have to switch up my nightly ritual and eat more fresh fish.

Let this be a lesson to all of you.  Be wary of EVERYTHING on store shelves.  If it's pre-packaged, it probably has some things you don't want to consume.
