FitSyracuse's Guide to a Healthy Easter!

Another holiday.  Most people like to use these days as an excuse to eat highly processed, sugar laden foods.  I'm here to give you some healthy alternatives to the traditional Easter foods!

Traditional Food:  Chocolate bunnies

Healthy Alternative:  Bunnies!

Traditional Food:  Jelly Beans 
Healthy Alternative:  Almonds!

Did you know 1oz. Jelly Beans counts for 2 points while 1oz. almonds counts for 4 points in the Weight Watchers point system!?!?!  They are making it more beneficial to eat Jelly Beans over Almonds!!!

Traditional Food: Chocolate Eggs

Healthy Alternative:  Eggs!

Traditional Food: Peeps
Ingredients:  Sugar, Corn Syrup, Gelatin, Contains Less Than 0.5% of the Following Ingredients: Potassium Sorbate (a Preservative), Artificial Flavors, Yellow No. 5, Carnauba Wax.

Healthy Alternative:  Grilled Chicken Wings!
Ingredients:  Chicken Wings!

There is no need to eat highly processed, sugar laden foods this Easter.  There are plenty of healthy alternatives mother nature has provided us!
