This is what it's all about...

The WNY Hammerhead CrossFit Challenge - Buffalo event, was held this past Saturday.  There were many great CrossFit athletes there.  I was very impressed with the movement proficiency exhibited by all the athletes.  It is a testament to the great coaching we are seeing in CrossFit gyms in the area.

Every time I do a competition I am astounded by the level of effort, bravery, support, and humbleness of the competitors and fans.  The events of the weekend were announced a few days before the event on Saturday.  The first event required the athletes to perform two movements.  The Clean & Jerk and Muscle-Up.  If I knew Muscle-Ups were required of me in a competition and I have never done a Muscle-Up, I would not go to the competition.  I would love to tell you I would go, give it my all, and fight to get my first ever Muscle-Up.  But I would be lying.  I am not that brave.

There was one athlete at the competition who was that brave.  His name is Robby Dinero of CrossFit Athletes Unleashed.

Robby: Thank you for this moment.  Moments like these are why I love coaching.  I didn't get a chance to shake your hand in Buffalo.  Hopefully I will see you at the Rochester or DeWitt competition.
