MOTIVATION MONDAY: Happy New Year!


It's that time of year again.  The holidays are over.  You ate wayyyyy too much.  You feel like crap.  You gained a few pounds and your clothes are too tight.  You want to make a change.  You make a New Years resolution to get in shape.


Great!

What most people do is search for the cheapest gym membership they can find.  Go for a month (maybe) and never go to the gym the rest of the year.

I worked in a health club for 7 years.  Every year I witnessed the same thing.  We would get an influx of new members in January.  We would see a couple hundred new faces in the gym every January.  By March, we would retain maybe 10 of those people.  5 of those would be personal training clients.

At CrossFit Syracuse, we get an influx of new members as well.  Not nearly as many people as a traditional health club, but our retention rate is much higher.  The reason for this is accountability and coaching.

Working out in a CrossFit class, or with a personal trainer gives you a support system.  If you have gone years without working out, most likely you aren't going to do it on your own.
