MOTIVATION MONDAY: Today Is The Real New Year

Thanksgiving; we eat a ton of food.  Hanukkah and Christmas; we eat a ton of cookies.  New Years Eve; we drink a ton of alcohol.  New Years Day; we tell ourselves "no more junk food"... And we do pretty well.  We may have had a couple hiccups along the way, but for the most part we ate clean for the month of January.

Then last night happened.  We watched the Super Bowl and couldn't resist the chips, pizza and chicken wings.  Our New Year's resolution was to eat clean and lose a few pounds.  We feel like we've ruined all the great progress we've made through the month of January.  Another failed New Year's resolution... Or is it?

I have good news.  Today is the REAL New Year!  The last "excuse day" is behind us.  Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas, New Years Eve, and now the Super Bowl are all behind us.  Now we can really start our healthy eating journey.

Think of January as a good warmup.  You developed some good habits.  You found some good, healthy recipes.  You ate a lot of vegetables.  Don't let one bad day derail your efforts.  Take the good habits you have developed and work to have a successful New Years resolution.
