Open Workout 15.2 - Initial Thoughts and Tips

From 0:00-3:00
2 rounds of:
10 overhead squats (95 / 65 lb.)
10 chest-to-bar pull-ups

From 3:00-6:00
2 rounds of:
12 overhead squats (95 / 65 lb.)
12 chest-to-bar pull-ups

From 6:00-9:00
2 rounds of:
14 overhead squats (95 / 65 lb.)
14 chest-to-bar pull-ups

Etc., following same pattern until you fail to complete both rounds

Initial Thoughts
Here it is.  We knew they were going to throw a repeat workout at us.  I was really hoping it wasn't this one!  This is a workout that is a ton of fun to watch, but horrible to do!  It's a classic CrossFit couplet with two classic CrossFit movements.  It's going to be painful, but lets try to have fun with it!

Tips - These tips are not intended for Games or Regional level athletes.  These tips are for the average CrossFit athlete; the person who is using the Open to test and challenge themselves.  I am writing these tips very soon after I learn what the workout is.  My strategy opinion may change as the weekend progresses.

Strategy completely depends on how well you perform these movements.  If you are good at overhead squats, keep them unbroken.  No need to rush them.  Stay under control and keep moving.

Break up the pullups early.  Even the best in the world broke up the pullups in the first round.  Don't be a hero and try to go unbroken.

Pacing is tricky with this one.  It really depends on your goal for the workout.  If your goal is to make it out of the first 3 minutes, then you better sprint from the start.  If you plan on getting through a few rounds, then you have to pace appropriately so you're not burnt out early.
